This is an X-ray of a 2 week old puppy.

Look at how far the bones have to grow before they become a proper, fully-developed bony joint. This is why you need to be so careful with what you allow your puppies to do. Jumping, walking and running up and down stairs, over exercising and over training should be avoided or kept to a minimum.

Doing too much impact activity at a young age can cause serious issues such as hip dysplasia and other orthopaedic conditions either immediately or later in life.
